I don't have any signal here at Lance Creek, so this will be posted a day late. That will probably happen a lot.
After two 8 mile days that kicked my ass and left me feeling physically ill, I thought about taking a shorter day of just 4.5 miles to recoup. To my surprise I had the energy to push on and didn't feel sick, which is good for our timing. The next 7.5 miles have no camping zones thanks to the high population of black bears.
Oh, and it rained today; our first rain. Once it turned into a drizzle it was actually quite pleasant to hike in.
My knees are aching, my shoulders are sore, my hips are bruised.. but not as much as they were yesterday.
Now as long as I can keep this upward momentum for the next month, I should be prepared for the 4-5 that will follow.
Tim says he may guest post on here at some point, but on his behalf I can say he's enduring the physical elements of the trip much better than I am so far. He's doing well, and is currently mulling over ideas for his trail name. We frowned on self-naming at first, but after Re tried naming me "Have you peed today", we realized it may be wisest to name oneself.
